Rodolfo "Rudy" Lopez Villarreal passed away at the age of 81. Born on February 21, 1945, Rudy lived a life marked by resilience, determination, and a deep devotion to family. Once he set his mind to a task, he pursued it with unwavering focus, pride, and quiet confidence that earned the respect and trust of everyone around him.

His greatest love began in high school with Olga Castillo. Their young romance blossomed into a devoted 58-year marriage built on loyalty, partnership, and steadfast support. Together they raised two sons, Robert and Mark, creating a home grounded in hard work, laughter, and lasting lessons.

Rudy had a remarkable talent for fixing things. Electrical work, plumbing, and household repairs came naturally to him, and he approached every challenge with patience and ingenuity. This same hands-on spirit became a model for his sons. He served more than 23 years in the United States Army Reserve at Fort Sam Houston and later owned The Graphic Shop on San Pedro Avenue from 1982 to 2007. His expertise eventually took him to the United States Government Publishing Office in Bath, New York, and Newport News, Virginia, before he returned to complete his career at Lackland Air Force Base.

Beyond his work and service, Rudy brought joy and energy to every gathering. He loved music deeply and was often the first on the dance floor, drawing even the shyest people into the celebration. He found simple pleasures in long bike rides, staying active at the YMCA, listening to music on a quality sound system, and enjoying a hot dog with mustard and raw onions. Above all, he was a protective and caring husband, father, and grandfather. His grandchildren, Marlowe and Zephyr, brought him tremendous pride and joy, and he watched over them with the same quiet strength and devotion he had always shown his family.

Rudy is survived by his beloved wife Olga, his sons Robert and Mark, his grandchildren Marlowe and Zephyr, his brothers Ramiro and Richard, his sister Rosie, and all those whose lives were touched by his wisdom, humor, and love.
