Rodney Thomas Myers

Rodney T. Myers, 84, of Mount Wolf, Pennsylvania, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Wellspan York Hospital in York. Born on March 7, 1942, in York, he was the son of the late Curvin Earl and Louise (Bailey) Myers. He and his wife, Carol Alice (Fritts) Myers, were married for 56 years, having exchanged vows on November 16, 1969.

Rodney graduated from West York High School and went on to earn degrees from Millersville University, York College, and Shippensburg, where he received his master’s degree. He dedicated 32 years to teaching mathematics at Central York High School before retiring. He was a longtime member of the Starview Sportsmen’s Association in Mount Wolf.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; his son, Todd and Anahit Myers of Maryland; his daughter, Michelle and Damon Merkel of Dover, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren, Afina, Lilia, Keersten, Abby, Noah, Hannah, Andrew, and Kamron; one great-grandson, Seth; and one great-granddaughter, Amberlyn, who is on the way. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara Mull of Airville, Pennsylvania. Rodney was preceded in death by his grandson, Peter James Merkel.
