September 15, 1961— March 3, 2026
Liberty Hill, TX
Rodney Paul Threet, 64, of Liberty Hill, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on March 3, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones after a nine-month battle with cancer. Born in Dallas, Texas, to Neda (Wright) and Jerry Don Threet on September 15, 1961, Rodney grew up in Rule, Texas, where he graduated from high school. He moved to Austin in 1984 and spent more than forty years working in construction, directional drilling, and septic services. He had a deep love for working outdoors and operating tractors, and he was an active member of his local golf community, spending many weekends and vacations on the course.
Rodney was a loving and devoted partner to Cindi Schocken for six years. Together they traveled, built a life filled with shared joys, and hosted many gatherings for family and friends. He is survived by Cindi; her sons John Schocken and Mike Schocken; his former spouse Renee Threet; their children Adriana Threet, Zack Threet, Marisa Threet and her children Riley and Jax, and Deiara Cochran and her husband Logan and their daughter Paisley; his former spouse Lisa Jenkins; their son Brandon Threet, his wife Camber, and their children Axton, Lennox, and Casey Paul; his siblings Charles Threet, Judy Wolsch and her husband David, and Terry Threet and his wife Tina; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Jesse and Gina Threet. Rodney cherished his large family and loved them deeply. His children saw him as their greatest hero and strongest supporter. He instilled in them the values of strength, integrity, and a strong work ethic, which they will carry forward throughout their lives. Those who knew him recognized his remarkable generosity and the way he consistently placed the needs of others before his own.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Neda Threet, in 2018, and his father, Jerry Don Threet, in 1996.
