Rodney J. Wilson

Rodney J. Wilson, 77, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away on March 1, 2026. Born in Lancaster, Ohio, to the late Torrence L. Wilson and Valeria Snyder Wilson, Rodney grew up in New Lexington alongside his brothers, Gregory Wilson and Bryan Wilson.

A proud member of the National Guard, Rodney worked for more than 40 years in Florida for Southern Bell, BellSouth, and AT&T. After retiring, he devoted his time to boating and fishing with his children and grandchildren, especially cherishing moments teaching his grandsons the love of fishing. He enjoyed living near the beach, relaxing on his front porch with a beer and conversation with neighbors, and never lost his deep affection for his hometown of “New Lex” and his Ohio roots. He was a longtime member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach.

Rodney is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Emilie Pauline Wilson; his children, Amy E. Heuer (Christoph), Rodney T.J. Wilson (Joy), and Lee Wilson; and his three grandsons, Wilhelm Heuer, Emmerich Heuer, and Rodney T.J. Wilson, Jr. (RJ). He is also survived by his brother Bryan Wilson (Suzy) of New Lexington and his niece, Haley Davis.
