Lucas, 55, of Southampton, NJ, on March 4, 2026. Known to friends and family as Rod, he was a thinker, innovator, and lifelong learner, whose extraordinary patience and generosity touched everyone who knew him. Rod possessed a rare intellect that inspired those around him to see the world with curiosity, clarity, and wonder.Born on April 28, 1970, in Mt. Holly, NJ, Rod was a loving husband, devoted son, cherished brother, and proud uncle. Above all, he was an adoring and adoptive Dad figure, "Papa" to Samantha's friends.Rod's love for his family was fierce and unwavering. He was predeceased by his daughter, Samantha Lynn, and his father, Ronald Lucas.Gloria, his mother, often said he is as smart as a whip. Can fix any computers, TVs, Cell Phones, and stubborn Printers.After Samantha's passing in 2013, Rod channeled his grief into creating the Samantha Lucas Memorial Fund, which provides awards to local high school students, ensuring her legacy continues to inspire and uplift young minds.Rod's passions were wide-ranging and infectious. He loved all things science fiction, from Star Wars to Star Trek, and had a fascination with vintage computers that reflected his curiosity and inventive spirit. His laughter was contagious, his love fierce, and his motto-"Where there's a Rod, there's a way!"-was a guiding principle for those fortunate enough to know him.Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 1:00 to 5:00 PM on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Perinchief Chapels, 438 High Street, Mount Holly, NJ. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 16, 2026, with The Rev. David Brown officiating.Rod will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all whose lives he enriched with his brilliance, warmth, and joy.
