Iadanza, affectionately known as "Rocky," passed away peacefully, at his home with his loving family by his side on March 11, 2026, at the age of 84.Born and raised in Summit, New Jersey, Rocky was the beloved son of the late Costanzo Iadanza and Mary (née Docchio) Iadanza. He was a graduate of Summit High School and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army.Following his military service, Rocky built a life rooted in hard work and dedication. He was most recently employed as a custodial attendant at West Orange Self Storage, where he worked until his retirement.For the past 34 years, Rocky made his home in Springfield, New Jersey. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather who cherished the time he spent with those he loved most. Rocky shared 25 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Edna (née Stubbe).In addition to his wife Edna, Rocky is survived by his loving children, Michael Iadanza and his wife Kika, and Michelle Sallas; and by his stepdaughter, Carmela Hanna. He was the cherished grandfather of Owen Sallas and Isabel Iadanza, who brought him great pride and joy. Rocky is also survived by his sister, Tina Smith. He was predeceased by his brothers, Carmin, Anthony, and John Iadanza.Rocky had a deep love for the outdoors. He found peace and happiness in gardening and fishing, hobbies that allowed him to enjoy nature and the quiet moments he valued so much. Whether tending to his garden or casting a line in the water, he embraced life with a simple and genuine appreciation for the world around him.Rocky will be remembered for his warm heart, his dedication to his family, and the steady, caring presence he brought to those who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of devotion to family, service to his country, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life.A celebration of life service will be held at Christ Church (Barnwell Hall), 561 Springfield Ave., Summit, NJ on Saturday, March 21st, from 2-4 PM with military honors and words of remembrance to begin at 3 PM.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
