Robinson Billings ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Lord Funeral Home - Center Ossipee on Mar. 16, 2026.Robinson Moore Billings, 48, passed away suddenly on February 3, 2026, in Homestead, Florida. Born on June 23, 1977, in Arlington, Massachusetts, Rob lived most of his life in Tamworth, New Hampshire. He lived a life filled with music, kindness, friendship, and a deep connection to the world around him.A beloved son of Joanne Billings, of Laconia, NH, and Peter Billings of Tuftonboro, NH, Rob was the second youngest sibling in a close-knit family. He is fondly remembered by his siblings, the Fabulous Billings 5: Carol Shiers of Conway, NH; Henry Billings of Fairbanks, AK; Jonathan Billings of Phippsburg, Maine; and Elizabeth Walker of Tamworth, NH. Rob's family was a source of love and support throughout his life. Robinson attended K.A. Brett Elementary School in Tamworth. After briefly attending Kennett High School, he followed his love of the earth and transferred to the Community School, in South Tamworth. In his late teens, Rob traveled with his brother Jon, aka "Jonny B," friend John Sartey, and brother-from-another-mother, Randall Acker, to Mexico. He also lived for a short time in LA, California. In his twenties, Rob owned and operated Washington Hill Painting before pursuing other paths. Rob married Aidan Helme of Center Ossipee, NH on December 28, 2002. Together they built a family and welcomed two children: Summer Raine Billings in 2005 and River Snow Billings in 2008 - now residing in Danby, Vermont with their mother. Rob earned his GED and became a Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA), briefly working in the nursing field at a local group home. Rob also celebrated an important milestone when he received his one-year sobriety token from Alcoholics Anonymous-a testament to his resilience and determination. Though he followed no one religion, Rob considered himself a spiritual child of the universe and had respect and love for the earth and its people, places and creatures, with a particular fondness for frogs. "True North" for Rob was Chocorua mountain and lake, with which he shared a lifelong connection.Rob faced challenges with mental health and addiction during the latter years of his life but remained a kind-hearted soul who always had a smile on his face and a song in his heart. He was known for his forgiving nature and ability to bring warmth to those around him. Rob spent many of those years wandering the United States. His journeys took him to places like Portland, Oregon; Austin, Texas; NYC; and Miami, Florida. Wherever he went, he carried at least one guitar-his constant companion for writing songs and expressing himself through music. Music was not just a passion for Rob; it was his language and solace.Robinson Moore Billings will be deeply missed by all who helped him along his journey. If you were lucky enough to have been graced by his kindness, Rob's children ask that you learn what the National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI) is, read about it, follow it on social media, and be a passionate advocate for mental health awareness in his memory. If you wish, donations to NAMI (NAMI.org), or The Nature Conservancy (preservenature.org) may be made in Robinson's name.Robinson will be interred at a private family ceremony, with a celebration of Life TBA at a later date.To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Robinson Moore Billings, please visit our floral store. To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
