Robin Funk, 85, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on March 4, 2026. Born and raised in Indianapolis, Robin dedicated his life to service, family, and community.
He proudly served as a Marion County sheriff, retiring as a colonel, and later became chief of the Washington Township Fire Department. He continued his career as head of security at Roche Diagnostics and, even in retirement, returned to assist with 911 dispatch, reflecting his lifelong commitment to public service.
Above all, Robin was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret; his sons, Brian and David; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Robin cherished traveling with Margaret, whether riding his motorcycle through Michigan or enjoying riverboat journeys across Europe. He also treasured his regular breakfast gatherings with lifelong friends at local Indianapolis spots like Just Judy’s. He will be remembered for his wisdom, steady presence, and the deep love he shared with his family and friends.
