Roberta Kennedy

Roberta “Bobbie” Kennedy, 91, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Riverstreet Manor in Wilkes-Barre. Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Leland and Bertery Warke Farley. A 1952 graduate of GAR Memorial High School, Bobbie worked as an artist for Hy-Art Lamp and later at Sallie Mae until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Daniel Farley and his wife Ann, and by her brother-in-law, Francis “Skip” Giampietro. Bobbie is survived by her children, Kevin Kennedy of Kingston, Lee Ann Piazza and her husband Mark of Swoyersville, Patty Wetzel and her husband Kenneth of Downingtown, and Shawn Kennedy and his wife Trisha of Wilkes-Barre; her grandchildren, Jennifer Wadas, Katelyn Kennedy, Malia Piazza, Shana and Ryan Wetzel, and Shawn and James Kennedy; and her great-grandchildren, Dayne and Kenadee Wadas. She is also survived by her brother, Warren Farley and his wife Barbara of Hanover Township, her sister, Edith Giampietro of Mountain Top, and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Bobbie’s family will remember her quiet strength, her creative spirit, and the steady love she gave to the many generations that surrounded her. Private funeral services were held at the convenience of the family, with interment in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hanover Township.
