Piqua, OH
Roberta Drinnon, 77, of Piqua, Ohio, passed away on March 13, 2026, at Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County in Troy, Ohio. Born on January 31, 1949, in Dewitt, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Delmer Gambrel and Mary (Epperson) Gambrel.
Roberta was known for her sweet, loving, and selfless spirit. She brought warmth and joy to everyone fortunate enough to know her. A devoted wife, she married John Drinnon on November 23, 1991, in Wooster, Ohio, and together they shared many years of life and love.
She was a proud and loving mother to her children Tammy Boldman of Sidney, Ohio; Walter Messer of Englewood, Ohio; Mary (Gregg) Street of Piqua, Ohio; and David (Ashley) Messer of Sarasota, Florida. She is also survived by her stepson John D. Drinnon of Philadelphia, Tennessee; five sisters, Kathy Gonzalez of Springfield, Ohio; Doris (Jerry) Griffith of Covington, Ohio; Wilma Hall of Thomasville, Georgia; Barbara (Brent) Pohlschneider of Piqua, Ohio; and Elizabeth Basil of Piqua, Ohio; one brother, Del (Debbie) Gambrel of Brookville, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Jessica, Dustin, Noah, Aiden, Adam, Megan, Andrea, and Landon; two step-grandchildren, Kaleb and Latasha; ten great-grandchildren, Colton, Hallie, Addison, Liam, Lance, Sariyah, Garrett, Haiden, Karson, and Edward; and one step great-grandchild, Ravy. She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Roberta graduated with the class of 1967 from Houston High School and was a longtime member of Redemption Christian Tabernacle in Tipp City, Ohio. She found her greatest happiness in simple things—tending her garden and flowers, cooking from her cherished recipe books, attending church, and most of all, spending time with her family. Her grandchildren brought her special joy, and she treasured every moment shared with them. Her gentle heart, joyful personality, and caring nature made her a source of comfort and light to all who knew her. She will be remembered for the love she gave, the kindness she showed, and the many lives she touched. Her family finds peace knowing she is now resting in the arms of the Lord she loved so dearly.
