Roberta C. Rutter

Roberta C. Rutter, 65, of Glassboro, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, with her daughter by her side. Born in Elmer to the late Patrick and Doris (Roun) Naples, she grew up in Clayton, where she attended Clayton High School and later Rowan University.

A resilient woman who faced many challenges, Roberta found strength in recovery and in her faith. She worked as a counselor at Maryville Integrated Care in Woodbury, helping others navigate their own struggles. Deeply active in her church, she faithfully attended services and opened her home to host Bible studies. With compassion and understanding drawn from her own experiences, she offered encouragement and support to those battling addiction, reminding them they were not alone.

Roberta was proud of the accomplishments she made throughout her life and wished to be remembered for them. She is survived by her son, Kevin Naples; her daughter, Renee Freda (Tim); her brothers, William Naples (Debbie) and Michael Naples; and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John “Jack” Rutter IV, her son Joseph Naples (Marlene), and her sister, Rose Raivley.
