He was predeceased by: his parents, William Sundermeyer and Irene Twehaus Sundermeyer. He is survived by: his wife Martha Sundermeyer; his daughters, Mary Katherine Hansen and René Thomas (Dave); his grandchildren, Andrew Johnson (Berenice), Rachael Tran (Scott) and Robert Johnson (Kaitlyn); his great grandchildren, Dylan Johnson, Maxwell Johnson, Adrianna Johnson and Evangeline Johnson; and his siblings, Thomas Sundermeyer, James Sundermeyer (Katie) and Tamra Thus (Michael). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 11th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Melancon Levingston Funeral Home - Nederland (1605 Avenue H, Nederland, TX 77627). A rosary will be held on Wednesday, March 11th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM and at 10:30 AM. A Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 11th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church (3648 61st St, Port Arthur, TX 77642). A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 11th 2026 at the Greenlawn Memorial Park (3900 Twin City Hwy, Groves, TX 77619).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.
