He was 87 years old.He was born in Fishing Creek, Pa of Alice and Paul Smith, and was raised in Irvington NJ. Robert lived in Cedar Knolls for over 60 years.Robert was a Machinist for Warren GV in Cedar Knolls before retiring many years ago. He was known for fixing anything and everything.He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Hanover, volunteered at Morristown Hospital for over 20 years, Clarinetist with the Hanover Wind Symphony for over 20 years, member of the Notre Dame of Mount Carmel church choir, and was the treasurer for the Hanover Township Senior Club for 15 years.He was a kind and gentle man with a great sense of humor, and loved his family dearly, spending as much time with them as possible during any excuse for a celebration.Survivors include his loving wife: Therese H. (nee-Haitmanek); his daughters: Susan Gowe and her husband Robert; Eileen Bennett and her husband Paul, his son Steven and his wife Christine, his daughter Linda Ward and her husband Glen, 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.Visitation will be on Friday March 20, 2026 from 5:00pm- 8:00pm at the Par-Troy Funeral Home 95 Parsippany Road, Parsippany.
