Robert Thomas Dobler Jr.

Robert Thomas Dobler Jr.

Union, NJ

Robert Dobler, born April 30, 1994, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. He is survived by his mother Janice Dobler and his father Robert Dobler Senior, his paternal grandmother Jacqueline Dobler, his aunt Patty Armellino, his uncle Paul Armellino, his aunt Sandra Hameroff, his uncle Richard Hameroff, and his cousins Brian, Kevin, Daniel, David, Kristen, Noah, and Hunter. He was predeceased by his grandparents Edward and Alberta Tavaska, and by his grandfather Hank “Opa” Dobler.

From the beginning, Robert was a joy. As a baby he slept through the night after just three weeks, and rice cereal was his favorite food—so much so that his parents had to be careful not to let him have too much. As a young boy he spent cherished afternoons with his grandfather Eddie, who picked him up from school each day. When his grandmother retired and began sharing that time with him, Robert made it clear he preferred having his grandfather to himself.

Robert attended every Wildwood Elks convention from the age of six weeks and later earned the rank of Eagle Scout while finishing high school, demonstrating the same determination that would mark his life. His first job was at Cedar Hill Golf Course in Livingston, New Jersey. With savings from that position and the support of his parents, he founded his own company, Rob Dob’s Landscaping. He loved to travel and made time for family whenever possible, especially summers at Lake George with his cousins. Whether skiing in winter or jet skiing in summer, Robert embraced life with enthusiasm and an adventurous spirit. He lived on his own terms, and his genuine joy was contagious to everyone around him.
