Bobby was born on December 3, 1948, in Philadelphia, to the late Marie (nee Sherin) and Robert Sr. He grew up in East Mt. Airy, attended Holy Cross School, and graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School in 1967. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for two years.Following his discharge, he proudly served in the Philadelphia Police Department for 34 years, attaining the rank of Corporal and then Sergeant. Bobby served many Chief Inspectors and multiple Captains during his tenure. He received numerous commendations for his expertise and loyal service before his retirement in 2004.Upon retirement, Bobby moved with his wife, Linda, to Montgomery County, where they became active parishioners at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Catholic Church. As a devout Catholic and wanting to give back, he then began a second career teaching Theology and Business at Monsignor Bonner, Conwell Eagan, and Lansdale Catholic High Schools. In his free time, Bobby loved playing sports. He played softball in many Police Leagues and enjoyed watching his sons play in neighborhood leagues as well as high school.Bobby is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Linda, and their 5 children, Michael (Tara), Brian (Bridget), Eric Hyman (Stephanie), Sean (Katie), and Kristen; grandchildren, Michael Jr, Chelsea, Kerrin, Daniel, Morgan, Ciaran, Ethan, Payton, Sloane, Kevin and Ryan; and great-granddaughters, Brinley and Kierra. Bobby is also survived by his sisters Kathy Kirchner (Tom), Sister Robert Francis Marie lSP, and AnnMarie Beck (Joe); and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Root.Bobby was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle and will be tremendously missed by all who knew him.Relatives and friends are invited to Bobby's Life Celebration on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, from 10:30 AM to 11:50 AM at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Church, 1325 Upper State Road, North Wales, PA 19454. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12 noon.
