Robert Pernell Swift Eagle, 53, of New Town, ND, passed away on March 12, 2026 surrounded by loving family.
Robert was born in Los Angeles, California, the son of Delilah Mae Old Rock-Martin and Reuben Joseph Swift Eagle Jr.
Robert graduated from Chimawa Indian School in Chimawa Washington and went on to attend College at United Tribes in Bismarck, North Dakota.
Robert worked various jobs with passion. His favorite was being a Transportation Specialist transporting dialysis patients during various time of day and night. He was a very reliable and dedicated employee. Upon retiring from this position he decided to reside in New Town, North Dakota to assist in caring for his Aunti LaVonne Snydal.
Robert loved to tease and make people laugh. He always had something to say in a positive manner and never had a negative thing to say about anyone or anything. Robert was a Seattle Seahawks fan and enjoyed attending several home games. He was elated that they won the Super bowl in 2026. He wore their sports memorabilia with pride. His children though he was a wonderful “Papa” and “Pops”. He enjoyed board games and playing basketball with is children. He loved music and watching movies. Robert loved road trips and his favorite was Lake Tahoe with his family. Camping was a highlight for him and family time all and all.
He leaves behind: Children: Kadyn Cole Lilley, Drew Alexis Swift Eagle, Robert Pernell Swift Eagle Jr. “Numpa”, Tallyn Tai Garreau. Grandchildren: Zavvian Jay Lilley, Tate James Lilley. Sisters and brothers Reuben Swift Eagle Jr, Gregory Terell Swift Eagle, Genevieve Lynn Swift Eagle, Deneen Jewel Swift Eagle, Joni Dee Seventh Star, Roberta Syrene Johnson, and Deena Jade Davidson, many nieces’ and nephews, and cousins that loved him dearly.
Funeral services will be held on Weds. March 18th at 11:00 a.m. at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Fort Kipp Cemetery.
