Robert Perry ObituaryPublished by Legacy on Mar. 6, 2026.Bob Perry was born on December 23, 1941 in NY and passed on March 5th, 2026 at age 84.Always a Brooklyn boy despite living in the Midwest for over 60 years, Bob still cheered for New York sports teams and missed his New York pizza and egg creams. Preceded in death by his parents, Belle and Charles Perry. Bob is survived by his wife, Linda Richman Perry; daughters, Michelle Shamash and Lisa (Ken) Sipe; grandsons, Noah and Ari Shamash; and brother, Elliot (Lynn) Perry.Bob attended Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn, and his claim to fame was that Barbara Streisand was a classmate. Bob attended Harpur College in Binghamton, NY. He received his MA from Michigan State and PhD from Rutgers in Statistics in 1970. In 1965, Bob was drafted into military service and spent 2 years at the CDC in Atlanta before returning to Rutgers to complete his PhD.While at Harpur College, Bob met his future wife, Linda, whom he married in 1964. Linda and Bob have lived in several cities with daughters Michelle and Lisa. The girls grew up in Cincinnati where he was employed by Proctor & Gamble, and then in St. Louis where he worked at McDonnell Douglas. Eventually they moved to Eagan, Minnesota where Bob worked at Pillsbury and 3M. Bob has held numerous positions in professional organizations. Bob also enjoyed teaching and tutoring statistics at several colleges.Always ready with a quick pun or joke, Bob also enjoyed staying fit and active. He began running at age 40 and eventually ran 9 marathons. His favorite was the New York Marathon. He also enjoyed skiing, tennis and bike riding.Bob loved New York sports, chocolate, and his beloved family dogs. He especially enjoyed international travel. He travelled extensively with 3M throughout Asia, South Africa, and Australia. After retirement, Bob and Linda continued to travel with the last trip being to Vietnam.Bob enjoyed being involved in synagogue life. He held several leadership positions including President of Beth Jacob Congregation and board member of St. Paul Federation.
