Robert Paul Fajardo

December 2, 1957 March 6, 2026

Clemson, SC

Robert Paul Fajardo, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, at his residence. Born on December 2, 1957, in New Jersey, Robert was a man of many talents who lived a life defined by service, faith, and devotion to family.

A proud high school graduate of the class of 1975, he immediately joined the Navy that same year and served honorably for more than a decade. His service included more than three years aboard a submarine in Hawaii. After his military career, Robert remained deeply engaged in his community. For sixteen years he was an active member of St. Andrews Catholic Church, where his beautiful tenor voice enriched the choir and he shared his musical gifts by playing guitar for fellow parishioners. He was also a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus.

Robert embraced life with quiet enthusiasm. An avid golfer, he was a proud member of the Utica Baptist golf team. He spent many rewarding years as a lifeguard and water safety instructor at the YMCA, teaching third graders essential water safety skills. He was also a talented water polo player who earned numerous trophies during his time in California. In quieter moments he found peace fishing, often spending tranquil days by the water. Those who knew him remember a kind-hearted, generous man with a warm sense of humor who was always ready to lend a hand or share a story.

Robert is survived by his devoted wife, Theresa Fajardo; their three children, Anthony C. Fajardo (Shantelle), Robert M. Fajardo (Hollie), and Anne Marie Coutu (Jeremie); and their beloved granddaughter, Eleanor Faith Coutu. He is also survived by his brother, Douglas Fajardo, along with many nieces, nephews, and in-laws. He is reunited in spirit with his parents, Robert Philip and Eleanor DeVust.
