Robert P. “Bob” Coldiron, III, a steadfast and honorable man, passed away peacefully in Dothan, Alabama, on March 12, 2026. Born on May 30, 1937, in Danville, Kentucky, he was the cherished son of Robert Potter Coldiron, Jr. and Connie Lane Coldiron. Bob lived a life deeply rooted in the values of God, family, and country.

He served more than twenty years in the United States Army, retiring as a Command Sergeant Major. His distinguished military career included service in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars, where his bravery and leadership earned the lasting respect of those who served with him. A proud veteran, Bob was a strong and independent man who raised his family with the same strength and integrity.

Bob shared sixty-six years of marriage with his beloved wife, Elderene Ball Coldiron. Together they created a home grounded in love and resilience. He was a devoted and strict yet loving father who taught his children the importance of courage and faith. His quiet pursuits of fishing and Bible study brought him peace and spiritual fulfillment, while his deep Catholic faith found expression through his active membership at St. Columba Catholic Church, where he served as Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his daughters, Laura Coldiron and Cathy Sahagun; grandchildren Joey Sahagun, Courtenay Nerbonne, Christine Bridges, and Casey Vaught; five great-grandchildren; and his sister, Wendy Allen. Bob was preceded in death by his son, Robert Mark Coldiron, and his sisters, Carol Card and Diane Sharp. He will be remembered as a man of unwavering integrity whose life reflected quiet dedication to those he loved.
