He was predeceased by: his wife Nancy Lee McLaughlin (Whitney); his parents, Richard A. McLaughlin and Ruth McLaughlin (Butterworth); and his siblings, Hope Coleman, Ruth Clegg and Richard A. McLaughlin.

He is survived by: his children, LeeAnn Hooper (Mark), Robert W. McLaughlin, Susan McCabe (late James) and Laurie Ramaker (Sam). He is also survived by grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home (88 Columbia St, Wakefield, RI 02879). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, March 14th 2026 at 9:00 AM at the St. James Chapel (2079 Matunuck School House Rd, Charlestown, RI 02813). The military honors will be held on Saturday, March 14th 2026 at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery (301 S County Trail, Exeter, RI 02822).
