Boise, ID
Robert Anthony Martinez, known to all as Bob, was born on July 1, 1940, in Las Vegas, New Mexico, to Jose and Carmen Martinez. The second of eight children, Bob grew up surrounded by a large and loving family. In 1963, he married Sharon Paseka, and together they raised three daughters and a son, building a life grounded in dedication and quiet strength.
Bob worked for many years in the paint industry, first at Enmar Paint Company and Ameron before joining Wilko Paint, where he spent 25 years and advanced to the role of company president. He was deeply involved in his community, serving as an active member of the Rotary Club and as President of the Southeast Kansas Mental Health Association. A longtime parishioner at the Church of the Resurrection, Bob lived with a sense of service and commitment to others.
After retiring in 2005, Bob and Sharon moved to Buena Vista, Colorado, and later settled in Boise, Idaho, in 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Carmen Martinez, and his sisters Matilda “Tillie” Peterson and LaNora Kirchmann. He is survived by his wife Sharon; his brothers J.D. (Joseph), Reuben, and Jerome; his sisters Carolyn Black and Christine Myers; his children Christian (Jack Day), Kelly (Marlisa Wilson), Amy (Neil Miller), and Jeff; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
