Preserve forever →Robert Loren "Bob" Beeler Sr.
January 10, 1943— March 6, 2026
Des Moines, IA
Robert Loren Beeler Sr., known to all as Bob, was born on January 10, 1943, and passed away at the age of 83 after suffering a heart attack. A proud union electrician who later served as a foreman for the Des Moines Public Schools, Bob was a gifted handyman who could repair nearly anything. He took genuine pride in solving problems, excelled at woodworking, and found joy in his hobby trains. Above all, he was known for his willingness to help others, often placing their needs before his own.
Bob met the love of his life, Sheryl Ann Bird, while working at a bank. They fell in love young and built a life together centered on family, loyalty, and the simple daily rhythms they treasured, including morning breakfasts and walks whenever possible. He proudly served in the Army National Guard and carried that same sense of duty and strong work ethic throughout his days. In quieter moments, he enjoyed playing solitaire on the computer and following the stock market, occasionally engaging in day trading.
His greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren, with whom he loved spending time, teaching them about stocks and investments, and quietly sharing his wisdom. Born the youngest of eight children, Bob maintained a deep connection to family all his life. He could be stubborn at times, yet he possessed one of the most generous hearts imaginable, always ready to help anyone he knew.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sheryl Ann Beeler; his daughter, Lori Lynn (Mark) Havran and their children Savannah (Michael Haag), Macy, Jake, and Alena; and his son, Robert Loren Beeler Jr. (Christina Maravelas), and Rob’s children Levi Magee Beeler and Dane Loren Beeler. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Loren Beeler, and his seven siblings.
