Preserve forever →Robert Lee Ruffalo
August 21, 1946— March 9, 2026
Plainfield, WI
Robert Lee Ruffalo was born on August 21, 1946, at the family home to James Vincent Ruffalo and Rose Marie Ruffalo. He grew up on the family homestead on Hwy O in Plainfield, Wisconsin, where the Ruffalo family instilled in him a strong work ethic and deep family values that guided him throughout his life.
Robert dedicated nearly 65 years to his career as Fleet Maintenance Director at Plainfield Trucking. His remarkable mechanical skill, leadership, and unwavering commitment left a lasting impact on the company that will be felt for years to come.
He often recalled first meeting Lucy in the third grade, their families already close. That early connection blossomed into a lifelong partnership when Robert and Lucy married on June 26, 1965. Their marriage of more than 60 years was filled with love, shared adventures, and the family they built together.
Robert and Lucy cherished life’s simple joys, especially attending their children’s, grandchildren’s, and great-grandchildren’s sports events and lending a hand with community and church landscaping projects. Above all, he treasured being surrounded by family and particularly loved hunting with his grandsons, creating memories that will live on through generations. Together they traveled the country with their two children, Barry and Bobbi, often returning to the mountains of Tennessee and the beaches of Fort Myers, Florida, where Robert liked to say he finally learned how to relax.
Robert is survived by his loving wife Lucy, his daughter Bobbi Ruffalo (Ulf Berggren), grandchildren Genevieve Reabe (Tyler) and Benjamin Ruffalo-Ebben, and great-grandchildren Bingham and Catalina Reabe. He is also survived by his son Barry Ruffalo (Mindy), grandchildren William Ruffalo (Katie Meeks), Kathrine Ruffalo Harte (Charlie), Ava, and Luca. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his family will forever carry his stories, lessons, and love.
