Troy, AL
Robert Lanford "Robbie" Walters, 45, of Troy, Alabama, passed away on March 9, 2026, in Glenwood, Alabama, following a motorcycle accident. Born on October 7, 1980, in Montgomery, Alabama, Robbie lived a life centered on his deep devotion to family, his work, and his steadfast faith in Jesus Christ.
A skilled engineer at Wiley Sanders in Troy, Robbie was known for his hands-on approach and natural talent for working with computers and small machines. He lovingly shared this interest with his son Brady, spending many hours rebuilding computers together. He found great peace in the outdoors, particularly through hunting and fishing, and took pride in the southern traditions and values passed down by his family.
Robbie shared a close bond with his mother, Sue McLendon of Glenwood, and cherished his relationships with his stepfather, Ricky McLendon of Glenwood, and his father, Leon Walters of Grady. He had finally found lasting happiness with his longtime friend and fiancée, Jodi Grissett of Troy, with whom he was planning a future together. He also cared deeply for Jodi’s mother, Kaye Grissett.
Robbie is survived by his son, Brady Walters; his mother and stepfather, Sue and Ricky McLendon; his father, Leon Walters; his paternal grandfather, Robert Walters of Grady; his siblings, Michael Walters (Rebecca) of Troy, April Hollingshead (Wayne) of Hayneville, Brian McLendon (Kayla) of Goshen, and Zachary McLendon (fiancée Selena Atwell); his fiancée, Jodi Grissett of Troy; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Louise and James Lanford Sullivan of Grady, and his paternal grandmother, Louise Walters of Lapine.
