Robert “Lamar” Wills

Robert “Lamar” Wills of Dawson, Georgia, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026, at the Willson Hospice House at the age of 66. Born on February 18, 1960, in Dawson to Richard Lamar Wills and Sandra Ruth Paul Wills, Lamar graduated from Terrell Academy in 1978 and attended Georgia Southwestern College. He worked alongside his father at the family construction company before retiring from a respected career with the Georgia Federal Inspection Services as a peanut and pecan inspector.

Lamar was an avid shooter who became a state champion in competition, and he cherished his Jeeps, often joining friends from the SOWEGA Jeep Club on trail rides. Above all, he was the brother and friend others could always call for advice, help, or simply to talk, offering steady presence and quiet strength. His deepest love was reserved for his sister, brother-in-law, and niece, a bond that defined him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Sandra Wills. He is survived by his sister, Sandi Wills Payton, and her husband Allen of Oakwood, Georgia, and his beloved niece, Gabby Payton, also of Oakwood.
