Robert L. Lewis

Robert L. "Bob" Lewis, age 84, of Milledgeville, passed away on March 4, 2026. Born in Portsmouth, Ohio on January 24, 1942, Bob joined the United States Army after high school and was stationed at Ft. Gordon. During a weekend trip to Milledgeville, he met Dianne McCullough, who would become his beloved wife.

Bob spent his career at Central State Hospital, where he served as Director of Housekeeping at the Georgia War Veterans Home. A longtime member of the V.F.W. and American Legion, he dedicated more than twenty years as Youth Athletic Director for the Baldwin County Recreation Department. He was also an avid golfer and a faithful member of First Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dianne McCullough Lewis. Bob is survived by his daughter, Pam Tindal, his son, Greg Lewis, and four grandchildren: Lacy Tindal (fiancée Chase), Robbie Tindal, Emma Lewis, and Griffin Lewis, all of Milledgeville.
