Robert L. Driscoll

February 15, 1940 March 10, 2026

Enfield, CT

Robert Leonard Driscoll, 86, of Enfield, Connecticut, passed away on March 10, 2026. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts, to Thomas and Bertha (Fagnand) Driscoll, he grew up as the younger brother of Donald, who preceded him in death.

Bob enjoyed playing basketball during his school years and maintained many close friendships from high school, regularly reconnecting with classmates at reunions. Following graduation, he enlisted in the Air Force, training as an aircraft mechanic and serving at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware on air transport. After his military service, he joined Pratt & Whitney, where he began in experimental testing before advancing to the role of purchasing agent for International Fuel Cells. He took great pride in his contributions to America’s space program.

An adventurous spirit, Bob loved bowling in his younger years and served his community as a volunteer firefighter. He cherished traveling with his family in their camper and, in retirement, explored even more places alongside his wife of 53 years, Mary Kathryn (Scheller) Driscoll. Together they maintained a warm and welcoming home. Bob remained active in his community, volunteering at American Legion Post 80 in Enfield. His deep love of music continues to echo through his family, even if his children and grandchildren’s musical tastes sometimes differed from his own.

He is survived by his three children—Ellyn Driscoll, Christopher Driscoll, and Susan (Driscoll) Demers and her husband David—who will miss seeking his steady advice, as he always seemed to know just what to do. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Madelyn, Jackie, and Evan Demers. Though dementia marked his final years, his family came together to care for him at home, where he passed peacefully. His absence is felt deeply, particularly in the now-empty recliner that once held a man who was always there for his loved ones. A private service will be held as the family lays him to rest beside his beloved wife.
