Robert L. Cornali

d. 2026

North Huntingdon, PA

Robert L. Cornali, 83, of North Huntingdon, passed away on March 10, 2026. Born on April 3, 1942, in White Valley, he was the son of the late Arthur and Lucille (Vucelich) Cornali. A proud graduate of Clarion University, class of 1964, Robert cherished his time as a member of the Alpha Gamma Phi fraternity, where he formed lifelong friendships and earned the affectionate nickname “Jumbo.” He remained closely connected to his fraternity brothers, gathering with them for years to hunt, play golf, attend homecoming, and support philanthropic efforts for the university.

While working his way through college as a starter at Westmoreland Country Club, Robert met his beloved wife, Pam, a waitress at the club. He often recounted the story of how he worked to win her heart. His deep love of golf, nurtured at the club, brought him many enduring friendships. For 35 years, he taught U.S. History and Contemporary Affairs at Norwin Senior High School, retiring in 2000. His passion for international affairs led him to become actively involved with the World Affairs Council and to serve as president of Norwin’s AFS student exchange chapter, where he welcomed students from around the world. In later years, he and Pam found great joy traveling across Europe to visit his former AFS students.

Robert delighted in working in his garden, tending the soil and sharing its bounty by providing fresh vegetables or preparing meals for family and friends. He took special pride in the rare accomplishment of scoring his age in golf.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela A. (Kubjalko) Cornali; his children, Brian Cornali and wife Amy (Kovach) of Hickory, Benjamin Cornali of Cranberry, and David Cornali and wife Cyndi (Lappe) of North Huntingdon; four grandchildren, Shane, Brooke, Morgan, and Luke; his brother Bernard and wife Beth Cornali of White Valley; his sister Roberta Fix of Murrysville; his sister-in-law Barbara (Supancic) Cornali of Greensburg; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved brother, Bart C. Cornali of Greensburg.
