Robert Justin Mitchell, age 58, of Angleton, Texas, passed away on March 12, 2026. Born on October 27, 1967, in Angleton, he worked for many years as a skilled welder before retiring. Above all, Robert cherished the title of “Papa.” He loved his family deeply and found his greatest joy in spending time with his grandchildren, creating memories they will treasure always.

In his free time, Robert enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing, pursuits that brought him peace and happiness. He also found excitement in visiting the casino and playing the slot machines.

He will be remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who placed family above all else. Robert is survived by his children, Jessica Mitchell Garcia and her husband Frankie Garcia, Amber Mitchell, Robert Mitchell Jr., Megan Shriver and her husband Mitchell Shriver, and Krystal Killough. He was the proud grandfather of eight grandchildren who lovingly called him Papa. He is also survived by his sister, Jerri Lynn Mills and her husband John Mills; nephews Justin Mitchell and his wife Maggie Mitchell, Troy Lee Mitchell Jr., and Jon Eric Mills; along with many extended family members and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Pamela Mitchell and Jerry Mitchell, and his brother, Troy Mitchell. His legacy endures through the love he shared with his family and the memories they will carry in their hearts forever.
