April 24, 1940— March 8, 2026
Glens Falls, NY
Robert Joseph “Bob” DeAngelo, 85, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on March 8, 2026, at Glens Falls Hospital after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Born on August 24, 1940, in Glens Falls, New York, to Patrick R. and Cecelia (Russo) DeAngelo, Bob graduated from South Glens Falls High School in 1959 and proudly served in the United States Air Force. He then built a dedicated 34-year career with United Parcel Service before retiring. Bob found joy in life’s simple pleasures. In his younger years he was the lead singer of a band and remained a lifelong Elvis fan who loved singing along to his favorite songs. An avid golfer for more than 45 years, he belonged to several local clubs and spent many happy days boating on Lake George with family and friends. He also enjoyed visiting the Saratoga Race Course, playing cards, completing crossword puzzles, and driving his beloved Jeeps.
Above all, Bob cherished his family. He shared a deep and enduring love with his wife, Teresa “Terry” DeAngelo, whom he married on September 10, 1998. Their bond grew stronger with time, and in retirement he often accompanied her to real estate showings simply to be by her side. As his illness progressed, family gatherings were lovingly brought to their home so he could remain at the center of the joyful chaos, quietly taking it all in with his gentle smile. Though Parkinson’s gradually quieted his voice, his warmth continued to shine through in his hugs and the quiet happiness he found in being surrounded by those he loved.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, Patrick and Cecelia DeAngelo; his sister Roseanne Cook; and his brother Patrick DeAngelo. He is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Terry DeAngelo; his daughters Lisa (Kyle) Hall and Kim (Harry) Ottens; his stepson Kurt (Riley) Lawrence; his sister Judith (Dick) Seeley; and his brother Gary (Sandy) DeAngelo. He was a proud grandfather to Allison (Brian) Donovan, Joseph Strait, Molly Ottens, and Callan Lawrence, and a great-grandfather to Sage and Jasper Donovan. He will also be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bob’s kind heart and quick wit will be deeply missed, yet forever remembered.
