Preserve forever →Robert Jones Glasgow Jr.
August 16, 1947— March 8, 2026
Ann Arbor, MI
Robert J. Glasgow, Jr., known to many as Bob and to the lucky ones as Pop, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He slipped away with the grace of a receding tide, anchored by faith and surrounded by the family he adored.
Born in Hawley, Pennsylvania, in 1947, Bob’s youth was filled with car-burying beach adventures and horse-head mask antics. Though he possessed a booming voice, he was a reluctant performer who once sang at a Congressional fundraiser, losing his lunch beforehand but winning over the crowd anyway. He enlisted in the Navy, serving as a radio specialist and traveling from Monterey to Puerto Rico to Cuba. During those years he developed a lifelong love for fresh seafood, trading canned tuna for halibut, conch, and oysters on the half shell.
Back in Pennsylvania, Bob embraced the outdoors through golf, hunting, and fishing. He served his community on the school board and through his church, and volunteered for many years with the Special Olympics. Above all, he was a devoted husband to his wife of 44 years, Fawn. He delighted in surprising her with flowers “just because” and whisking her away on spontaneous mystery trips. A man who spoke his mind on behalf of the outliers, he remained deeply invested in his children, Adam and Kaelyn, whether paying his daughter’s parking tickets in Boston or maintaining a spirited Giants-Eagles rivalry with his son.
In his later years in Ann Arbor, Bob worked at his grandson’s school simply to joke with him daily, hosted weekly grandkid sleepovers complete with “goodnight cookies,” and became the neighborhood’s unofficial Saint Francis, offering treats to every dog that passed by. He is survived by his loving wife, Fawn Glasgow (née Osias); his children, Adam (Kim) Glasgow and Kaelyn (Paul) Brennan; his grandchildren, Lauren Delaney Mizic, Cullen Glasgow, Leif Glasgow, Jack Brennan, and Elijah Brennan; and four great-grandchildren.
