Robert Jardine Jr. Obituary March 10, 2026 - Brookings-Smith Funeral Home

Millinocket, ME

Robert Frank Jardine, Jr., 78, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on March 10, 2026. Born in Greenville, the son of Robert, Sr. and Edith Jardine, Bob grew up in Millinocket. He met his future wife, Vicki, at Stearns High School, graduating in 1965. He went on to earn a degree in Forestry from Paul Smiths College in New York, where he competed on the Woodsmen Team. Drafted into the United States Marine Corps in 1969, he served honorably as a Corporal in the 2nd Engineer Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, earning the Meritorious Mast for outstanding service.

A man of quiet strength and unwavering optimism, Bob lived life to the fullest with perseverance, a tremendous work ethic, and a generous spirit. Family and community were at the center of his world, and he readily shared his time, talents, and knowledge with anyone in need. An avid fisherman, traveler, and outdoorsman, he cherished his youth at “Camp” on South Twin with his sister Claire and brother Wayne, later creating joyful memories there with their young families. He fly-fished around the world with his son Robbie, golfed in Scotland and cruised distant shores with his daughter Heather, and shared his love of beekeeping, gardening, and family recipes in the kitchen with his daughter Stacy. A lifelong UMaine hockey fan, he rarely missed a game and attended the Frozen Four many times. He and his beloved wife Vicki enjoyed memorable trips to the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics, Hawaii, and beyond. In his woodworking shop, Bob lovingly crafted heirloom rolling pins, cutting boards, and countless other treasures for those he cared about, passing along his skills and values to everyone around him.

Bob is survived by his children, Stacy LaBree and husband Matthew of Hampden, Heather Davis and husband Arthur of Rochester, New Hampshire, and Robbie Jardine and wife Carrie of Dedham, as well as his beloved grandchildren Cameron and Alexis LaBree, Liam, Sydney, and Miles Jardine. He will be deeply missed by his cousins, nieces and nephews—especially the “Daigle Boys” Mike, Matt, and Jason—his sister-in-law Theresa Germain, and dear friends Kim Leonard and Tim Nadeau. Predeceased by his loving wife of 44 years, Vicki L. Jardine, Bob leaves behind a legacy of purpose, gratitude, and quiet courage, forever remembered as a devoted husband, father, papa, and friend who cherished every simple moment and lived each day with heartfelt intention.
