Robert Jacob "Jake" Harris

Robert Jacob "Jake" Harris

July 27, 1977 March 15, 2026

West Monroe, LA

Robert Jacob “Jake” Harris, 48, passed from this life surrounded by those he loved on March 13th, 2026, after a lengthy battle with congestive heart failure. Jake brought joy to this earth when he was born on July 27, 1977, in Jackson, Mississippi to Robert “Bo” Harris and Connie Sue Boles (Poland). A memorial service to honor him will be held at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe LA., from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on March 21, 2026.

Although he died young; our dad celebrated life and death was something he never feared. He lived a life filled with love and enjoyment surrounded by his family and friends, loved to laugh and have others laugh with him, and he continues to live through those he was closest to. Dad embodied the sun, lighting up everything with his bright energy, presence and the warmth he brought to everything he did and to everyone he met, always being kind to friends and strangers alike.

Our dad was a loving father of three and loved us more than anything else in this life and he gave us everything he had. He put so much love, creativity, and passion into his artistic hobbies such as woodburning, resin art and 3d printing. He loved riding his Harley while wearing his own Samurai mask designs chosen from his love of Asian culture and as a life-long fan of Bruce Lee, Godzilla movies and Star Wars, the force was with him. He had a love for video games and enjoyed playing them with us. Dad listened to and watched a wide variety of genres in music and movies. Being taoist, dad loved all animals and treated his cat Millie like one of his daughters. He appreciated all things in God’s natural world and for us he mimicked a peaceful, large tree providing shade on a hot day.

Jake was preceded in death by his dad, Robert “Bo” Harris; his paternal grandmother, Jo Ann Harris; and his maternal grandparents, Nick and Clara Poland. He is survived by and will continue to live through his family – daughters, Isabella Boyer, Amelie Harris, and Iris Harris (his “monkey”); the mother of his children, Jade Harris; his mother, Connie Sue Poland Boles (David); brother, Dillon Swiateck; and his “4th child” niece, Ainslie Swiateck; grandparents, Robert and Exa Harris; aunt, Sharon Poland Duncan (Bennie); uncle, Tim Poland (Kathy); close cousins, Chris Jenkins (Jessica), Adam Poland (Ashlie) and Leah Poland Dickson (Matthew); and numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, together with his life-long friend Danny Roy and many others.

The family extends its appreciation to friends and loved ones for their support. In lieu of flowers, treat nature kindly, make donations in his name to River Cities Cat Shelter or Ouachita Animal shelter to support all of the dogs and cats that he loved so much, or please donate to your preferred charity.
