Robert J. McFeeley
July 10, 1952— March 7, 2026
Avon Lake, OH
Robert “Bob” J. McFeeley, 73, of Avon Lake, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Born on July 10, 1952, in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, to Robert and Anna Marie (Matro) McFeeley, Bob grew up exploring the neighborhood with his siblings, playing pickup baseball all summer, and camping across the country with his father as an active member of his local Boy Scout troop. He graduated from Greensburg Catholic High School in 1970 and earned a degree in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh.
Throughout his career, Bob worked as a funeral director before building a long career in financial services, always centered on helping others. His greatest joy was supporting his daughter Kaitlyn. He traveled across Ohio to attend her travel softball and volleyball tournaments, proudly serving as a line judge at her matches, and wholeheartedly embraced every passion she pursued. Later in life, Bob found deep purpose with Seeds of Literacy, an organization close to his heart as the son of a librarian, where he worked tirelessly to ensure everyone had access to education.
Bob had a remarkable gift for walking into any room and making a new friend. An avid sports fan, he shared countless conversations about baseball with his son-in-law and held onto the hope of seeing Cleveland win the World Series again. He was a man who loved his people and took genuine delight in celebrating them. His warmth, kindness, and energy will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving daughter Kaitlyn Johnson and son-in-law Jordan, beloved grandson James Scott, dear sister Ann McFeeley, and his former spouse and caretaker Diane McFeeley. He was preceded in death by his brother Richard McFeeley and his parents.
