Quincy, MA
Robert J. Baszkiewicz, 77, of Quincy, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by love on March 14, 2026.
Born on September 7, 1948, in Boston, Bob was the beloved son of the late Nancy (Masciulli) and Edward Baszkiewicz. He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Janice (Stack) Baszkiewicz, and their daughters, Renee O’Toole and her husband Sean of Quincy, and Laura Ricciardelli and her husband Mark of Reading. He was a devoted grandfather to his six adoring grandchildren, Olivia, Avery, Patrick, Cailyn, Isabella, and Arianna. Bob was the cherished brother of Paul and his wife Patty Baszkiewicz of Quincy, and Edward and his wife Joanne Baszkiewicz of South Boston. He is also survived by his loving brother-in-law Jay and Kathy Stack of South Boston, Eileen Stack of Braintree, and many dear cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and close friends.
Bob grew up in South Boston before settling in Quincy to raise his family. A graduate of Christopher Columbus High School, he went on to study at Boston State College. He spent his career in the insurance industry, notably with Prudential and New England Life Insurance. A lifelong baseball enthusiast, he rarely missed a Red Sox game and coached Quincy Rotary Baseball for many years. He also served on the Board of Directors for Amego, Inc., where he dedicated himself to supporting individuals with autism. Bob loved golf, often playing with his closest friends and his brother Paul, and cherished simple pleasures such as walking and biking along Wollaston Beach. He looked forward to winters on Siesta Key Beach in Florida and summers in South Yarmouth, Massachusetts, always surrounded by family and friends. His deep affection for Cape Cod, the ocean, and beaches remained a constant joy throughout his life. In retirement, he embraced the things he loved most, finding happiness in the company of those around him, often with a glass of wine and a cigar in hand. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.
