Preserve forever →Robert Hugh "Bob" Richardson
October 30, 1933— March 14, 2026
Catonsville, MD
Robert Hugh Richardson, known affectionately as Bob, was born on October 30, 1933, in Olney, Maryland, and passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026, in Catonsville, Maryland. A man of deep Christian faith, Bob lived with unwavering devotion, boundless love for his family, and a quiet strength that touched everyone around him.
He was a devoted husband to his late wife, Betty Richardson. Together they raised two children, Cathryn McDonnell and Robert Richardson, modeling for them what it means to build a loving, faith-centered home. He was a cherished father to Cathryn (spouse David) and Robert (spouse Laura), a beloved grandfather known as “Pop” to Tara (spouse Billy), Jason, Holly, and Rob, and a doting great-grandfather to Alya, Bodhi, Roman, and Lilith, who brought him immense joy in his later years.
The eldest son of Robert and Mary Richardson, Bob is survived by his brothers Dwight and Al and his sister Ruth. He treasured time spent with family in Ruckersville, Virginia, where he enjoyed simple pleasures such as playing horseshoes and cornhole. A longtime accountant for the U.S. Government, he approached his work with diligence and integrity. His faith remained central to his life; he helped start Faith Baptist Church and remained a faithful member for more than thirty years.
Bob also found happiness in sports, remaining a loyal supporter of the Washington Redskins, Washington Nationals, and Maryland Terrapins, and in the soothing strains of country music. He will be remembered as a man of courage, kindness, and steadfast faith whose love continues to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
