Buffalo, WY
Robert H. “Bob” Borgialli, 93, of Buffalo, Wyoming, passed away at his home on March 11, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on January 29, 1933, to Charlie and Ruth Borgialli at the Marshall and Hazel Cullum home in Newcastle, Wyoming, Bob grew up on the family ranch and attended the Borgialli Country School. He later graduated from Newcastle High School in 1951, where he participated in rodeo, football, and FFA. Though offered a football scholarship to Chadron College, he chose to stay on the family ranch and also worked in the oil fields. In August 1951, he enlisted in the Wyoming National Guard, serving until his honorable discharge in October 1959.
In August 1960, Bob moved his family to Buffalo, where he purchased the Zahradnicek Ranch on Rock Creek. He continued ranching there for the rest of his life, taking great pride in his work. Even at 92, he was still harrowing fields and swathing hay. He was deeply committed to improving his cattle operation through better genetics, vaccines, minerals, and hay quality. While running the ranch, he also worked full time for various companies and, in October 1976, joined the City of Buffalo, eventually becoming City Works Foreman before retiring in 2000 at the age of 67. Bob enjoyed playing cards and cherished time spent with his family. In 2022, he was inducted into the Cowboy Hall of Fame.
He is survived by his son, Bob (Diana) Borgialli of Buffalo; daughters Judy (Chris) Hansen of Eagle Point, Oregon, Cindy (Randy) Black of Belfry, Montana, and Dianne (Rick) Farris of Buffalo; one sister, Dorothy Bartlett of Kansas; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister, and two grandsons.
