Robert H. Scarborough

Robert H. Scarborough, age 83, of Monroe, Georgia, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2026. Born on August 31, 1942, in Madison County, Georgia, he was the son of the late Holt Henry Scarborough and Martha Elizabeth Herrington Scarborough.

Robert made his home in Monroe, where he owned and operated Monroe Tree Service for more than 32 years. After retiring, he continued serving the community by opening Roberts Stump Removal Service. A longtime member of Journey Baptist Church in Covington, he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his family and faith.

He was preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Joe Scarborough, his brother Bobby Scarborough, and his sisters Alma Jean Roberts and Willie Mae Welch. Robert is survived by his wife of many years, Mae Scarborough of Monroe; sons Robert Jeffery Scarborough (Rhonda) and Rodney Dwayne Scarborough, both of Monroe; daughter Angelia Paige Barrett (Johnny) of Monroe; stepsons Charles Roberts (Belinda) of Milledgeville, Hampton LeDon Roberts (Wendy) of Monroe, and stepdaughter Debra Lynn Avans (Destry) of Eatonton; brother Richard Terrell Scarborough of Milledgeville; sister Mary Flanagan (Donnie) of Hull, Georgia; five grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
