May 11, 1959— March 3, 2026
Dallas, TX
Robert Glen Anderson was born on May 11, 1959, in Dallas, Texas, to Willie Rose and Alice Marie Anderson. He accepted Christ at an early age and became a devoted member of Oliver Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where he faithfully served by setting up and breaking down the microphones and sound equipment for Sunday worship services under the pastorate of the late Reverend Goree Allen.
A graduate of Roosevelt High School in 1977, Robert earned the rank of Second Lieutenant in the school’s Reserve Officers’ Training Corps. He later learned the craft of shoe repair through the Construction Education & Training Authority under the guidance of award-winning shoemaker Sammy Incardona. Robert eventually established his own business, taking pride in crafting fine leather cowboy boots that bore his initials.
In 1988, he left Dallas for Africa but settled in Key Largo, Florida, where he lived for twenty-one years. There he worked for Publix Super Markets, developing a keen interest in the stock market. After twenty years with the company, he retired and returned to Dallas in 2009. Robert found joy in visiting the library, baking, drawing, investing, and generously sharing his knowledge with others. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family.
