Solon VA, Paula and (Steve) Goughnour of Herndon VA, Lisa of Alexandria VA, Mark and (Karen) Semerad of Warrenton VA, Julie and (Mike) Marcellus of Pittsford NY, and Lara of Woodbridge VA, died peacefully in his home at the age of 98, on March 3, 2026, of old age with a full head of hair.He was born in Elma, Iowa, in 1927, to Ludvik Antone Semerad and Anna Kuhn Semerad, the second born of their ten children. He was preceded in death by siblings: Arthur, Bernice Kavidra, Ione Stadola, Inez Pelley, Alfred, and Dennis, and survived by siblings Leonard, Rick and Paul, as well as his own children, and by nine grandchildren: Roger and Kevin Semerad, Lisa Renee, Danielle, and Jessica Marcellus, Sacha, Robert, Martha, and Becca Goughnour, and by one great-grandchild Ava Semerad, and many nieces and nephews.Bob, as he was known to friends, traveled the world during his career with Department of Agriculture, Dairy Inspection and Grading, evaluating products for the prized AA standard. Back home, he enjoyed bowling, curling, and restoring antique farm equipment, and was a member of the Patina Club and old-timers league of the Potomac Curling Club. He was devoted to his wife, family, and faith in his Lord Jesus Christ.His kind spirit and sense of humor will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.
