Bob and his wife, Brenda, had recently moved to Laguna Vista where they began a new adventure together as proud "Islanders," embracing the coastal life he loved so much.Bob was born on July 11, 1946, in Lawrence, Kansas, to Fremont and Louise Hornberger. He grew up in Kansas and attended Kansas State University. From a young age, Bob developed a deep connection to agriculture and was actively involved in FFA during high school, laying the foundation for a lifelong career.Bob was a dedicated farming owner and operator, working extensively in cattle and feedlot operations. His work ethic, commitment to the land, and pride in agriculture defined much of his life and legacy.Outside of work, Bob truly enjoyed life. He loved traveling whenever he had the chance and spending time on the golf course. Above all, he had a deep passion for the beach, which made his move to Laguna Vista especially meaningful.More than anything, Bob deeply loved his wife, Brenda. Their 21 years of marriage were filled with partnership, adventure, and unwavering devotion. Together they shared a love of travel, laughter, and the simple joys of life. Moving to the coast and becoming "Islanders" was a dream they embraced side by side. Brenda was the love of his life, and Bob never missed an opportunity to show how proud he was to share his life with her.Bob's greatest joy and pride was his family. His love and passion also lived deeply in his children and grandchildren, who meant the world to him. He cherished every moment spent with them and was incredibly proud of each of them.Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda January; his children Leslie Miller; Jason and Jean Hornberger; Jordan and Robin Bass; and Alicia and Chris Conley. He was also a proud and doting grandfather to Lindsey and Luke Hornberger; Sydnee and Rylee Miller; Julian and Charlotte Bass; Cole and Sadie Pacheco; Kylee and Brett Moffett; and Caylin and Krome Conley. Along with four great-grandchildren, he is also survived by his mother-in-law, Mildred Baxter, brother-in-law Monte Baxter and sisters in law Cindy Hornberger, many nieces and nephews, and an abundance of family and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, Fremont and Louise Hornberger; his brother, Steven Hornberger; his son, Jeff January; his brother-in-law, Brad Baxter; and his father-in-law, Boyd Baxter.Bob will always be remembered for his positive outlook on life. He believed that everything would work out just as it was meant to.
