The Villages, FL

Robert Drew Fox (Bob), 72, of The Villages, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on March 5, 2026.

Bob was born on July 14, 1953, in Plainfield, New Jersey, to Orvil Kinsman Fox and Eileen Morris Fox, and grew up in New Jersey.

He proudly served in the United States Army for three years as a Military Policeman. During his service, he earned the National Defense Service Medal, the Expert Badge (Pistol, .45 Caliber), and the Good Conduct Medal.

After his honorable discharge, Bob built a long and respected career in government contracting, including 20 years with Boeing in Vienna, Virginia, and later with SRA and CSRA.

Outside of work, Bob enjoyed playing guitar and riding motorcycles, passions that reflected his love of music and the open road. He was also a poet and songwriter, expressing his creativity through the words and music he wrote. His children lovingly created a book of the children’s poems he wrote and shared with family and friends.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Laurie Ann Evans; his children, Robert K. Fox (Christina) of Fairfax, VA, Jenna E. Fox (Antione Lunghi) of Berryville, VA, and Cady M. Fox (Peter Ware Dunn) of Ashburn, VA; and his cherished grandchildren, Drew, Emmett, Liam, Charlotte, Franklin, and Franklin’s soon-to-arrive baby sister. He is also survived by his siblings, David J. Fox (Ariel), Nancy E. Guttler (George, deceased), and Alice C. Fox (David Rogalski), and by his nieces and nephew, Alaina, Emma, and Hunter.

Bob was comforted in his final moments by the presence of his sister, Alice C. Fox, and sister-in-law Peggy Evans.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Orvil Kinsman Fox and Eileen Morris Fox, and his brother-in-law, George Guttler.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Save The Music Foundation, which supports music education for young people.

His songs may be quiet now,

but the love behind them continues to echo in the hearts of those who knew him.
