He is survived by his loving wife, Nell M. Tavlin, with whom he shared countless cherished memories. His legacy continues through his son, Robert P. Tavlin, Jr., his daughter, Eva Joan Tavlin, and his stepson, Steven Browning (Mary Alice). Bob was a proud grandfather to Zachary Tavlin and Elisheva Yaish, and a doting step-grandfather to Audrey Lowes and Virginia and Phillip Browning.He was a proud 1967 graduate of Loyola University in New Orleans.He was preceded in death by his parents, Cy and Anna Tavlin, who instilled in him the values of hard work and integrity that he carried throughout his life.Bob served his country with honor as a Navy veteran, a chapter of his life that he always held in high regard. Following his military service, he embarked on a successful career with Dun and Bradstreet, where he dedicated 20 years, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues. His professional journey continued with the State of Mississippi, where he contributed an additional 10 years before retiring.Beyond his professional endeavors, Bob was an avid enthusiast of knives and guns, a passion that he shared with friends and fellow members of the local Gun Club. His interest in these pursuits was more than a hobby; it was a way to connect with others who shared his interests and to continue learning and growing in his knowledge.Bob was also a devoted member of the Knights of Columbus, where he found fellowship and an avenue to give back to his community. His involvement with the organization was marked by his characteristic generosity and willingness to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed.The memory of Bob Tavlin will be treasured in the stories shared by those who knew him. His warm smile, his unwavering support, and his enduring love for his family will be missed by all. Bob's life was a testament to the fact that one person's kindness and dedication can indeed make a significant impact on the world.
