Robert Edward Stalvey07/09/1947 - 03/13/2026Robert Edward Stalvey, 78, of Midland, Texas passed away on March 13, 2026, surrounded by family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm – 8:00pm, Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at 10:00am, Thursday, March 19, 2026 at Bellview Baptist Church.Bobby was one of eight children born to Amon and Jesse Stalvey on July 9, 1947, in Sulphur Springs, Alabama. Growing up in rural Alabama, Bobby spent time picking cotton by hand, turning over his car with friends to see what it felt like and making sure his antics were not discovered by his mother. Bobby graduated from Sylvania High School in 1965.Upon graduation Bobby was drafted in 1967 and served with honor in the United States Army in Vietnam. A Purple Heart recipient, Bobby was discharged in June 1969, reaching the rank of Sergeant.Bobby and Jane Suttles' relationship began at a dance in 1967. Their relationship grew before and after Bobby's service and they were wed on April 4, 1969. Along the way they had two boys, Damon and Russell, before leaving for Texas in 1982.After working in Texas Bobby started Bobby Stalvey Construction in 1983. Bobby grew his business eventually becoming known for his quality and working all over the Permian Basin. Bobby and Jane built a life and family in Texas that has continued to grow. Bobby was known for his work ethic, his generosity, sense of humor, and love for his family. Bobby will be missed but his life will continue to make an impact.Bobby was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Sonny and Russell Stalvey. Bobby is survived by his wife Jane, son Damon and wife Amber of Albuquerque, New Mexico and two grandsons Henry and Aiden, son Russell and wife Kristi of Midland, Texas and two granddaughters Hadlee and Whitlee.In lieu of flowers the family requests that you make donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital, the Greenwood Volunteer Fire Department, or a charity of your choice. The family would like to thank the staff of George H. O'Brien Jr. Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, in particular Michelle Gilbreath and Bryan Andies. Words cannot express our love and deep appreciation to John and Donna Mezera for giving themselves to help care for Bobby during the last month of his life.
