Robert E. Dostie Jr.

Robert E. Dostie Jr., 70, formerly of Hallowell, passed away on March 7, 2026. Born on June 28, 1955, in Augusta, he was the son of Rita (Kennett) and Robert Dostie Sr.

After graduating from Cony High School, Bob enlisted in the Army and served honorably for two years. He spent many years working at Frank Pomerleau’s in Augusta, and later in construction, as well as self-employed as a painter and paper hanger. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing and hunting, and found great pleasure in playing horseshoes and camping with his family. A devoted sports fan, Bob was especially loyal to the Patriots and Red Sox. He took pride in supporting his stepchildren and grandchildren at their sporting events, often capturing the moments from behind the camera.

Known for his gift of gab, Bob made friends wherever he went. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Kim Diehl, and his niece Carrie Tyler.

He is survived by his sister Cindy Lavallee and her husband Steve; his stepchildren Nick Chabot, Joseph Chabot, Just Chabot, and Benjamin Chabot; his grandchildren Olivia Chabot and Cameron Chabot, and their mother Valoree, who was like a daughter to him; his nieces and nephews Amber Stubbs, Krystal Lavallee, Chelsey Warren, Alex LeClair, and Chad Tobias; his great-nieces and nephews Malcolm, Aliyah, Lucas, Kayley, Kayden, Devin, and Collin; and many other extended family members.
