Robert Holt ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Kilgore Funeral Home, LLC - Tullahoma on Mar. 6, 2026.Robert Davis "Buck" Holt, Sr. of Tullahoma passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026 at his home, surrounded by his family. Mr. Holt was born on February 5, 1932 to Odell and Minnie Davis Holt and lived in Tullahoma for the entirety of his 94 years of life. He started working at an early age bringing wood in for the McCoy sisters, whose Dad owned the local hardware store on the square. After graduation, the class of 1951, Mr. Holt started working for South Central Bell, and then AT&T. He belonged to the CWN (Communication Workers of America) as well as the American Legion and the local Masonic Lodge for over 60 years. Mr. Holt loved to take his boat out to simply ride around, as well as fishing and skiing. He loved farming cattle, hogs and goats and enjoyed working in his garden. In addition to his parents, Mr. Holt was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 ½ years, Mary Jackie Holt; one son, Robert "Bobby" Holt; three brothers, Gerald, J.R., and Tallie Holt; and two sisters, Christine Waddle, and Hallie Jean Duke. He leaves behind his daughter, Lynne Holt; three grandchildren, Justin Goode, Jason Goode (Mary Beth), and Jessica Daily; five great-grandchildren, Autumn Goode, Paxton Daily, Tyler Goode, Lexie Goode, and Avery Daily; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation for Mr. Holt will be held on Saturday, March 14th from 11:00am-12:00pm at Kilgore Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow in the Kilgore Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Tom Murdock officiating. Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests planting a tree in Mr. Holt's memory or leaving a sympathy card with a favorite memory of him.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
