Robert Clayton Coker, affectionately known as “Clay,” passed away on March 11, 2026, on Olive Grove Road in Turbeville, South Carolina. A devoted Gamecock fan, Clay found joy in fishing and in visiting his Uncle Harry’s tractor shop. Well known and respected throughout the community, he graduated from East Clarendon High School and went on to spend his life cultivating the land he loved.

Clay is survived by his father, Robbie Coker of Turbeville; his siblings, Robin Walsh (Michael) of North Charleston and Melissa C. Floyd of Turbeville; his nieces, Kerri Allison Hagwood (Austin) of Kingstree, Anna Walsh of North Charleston, Chloe Floyd of Turbeville, Chelsea Floyd of Turbeville, and Christen Floyd (Antonio) of Lake City; and his nephew, Kipp Barrineau (Leslie) of Turbeville. He also leaves behind his dear Aunt Nelda Green of Turbeville, Uncle Johnny Green of Lake City, special cousin Kathryn Turbeville, numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, and many cousins who will carry fond memories of him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Marie Coker Hardy; his sister, Kim C. Barrineau; his paternal grandparents, Rev. Robert Coker and Lossie Coker; and his maternal grandparents, Eugene Green and Inez Green. Their memories remain an enduring presence in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
