September 18, 1970— March 6, 2026
Ponca City, OK
Robert Clark Mavity Jr., 55, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, died on March 6, 2026, alongside his beloved mother. Born on September 18, 1970, in Alva, Oklahoma, to Robert Mavity Sr. and Susan (Ellis) Anderson, Rob grew up with a deep love for his family and a natural talent for making those around him feel valued and uplifted.
A graduate of the University of Oklahoma, Rob was an accomplished athlete whose early years revolved around baseball. He earned a college scholarship for the sport, spending much of his youth on the diamond and occasionally being playfully ushered out of his mother’s salon. His passions for baseball, fishing, OU football, and the Pittsburgh Steelers remained constants throughout his life, yet those who knew him understood that his greatest devotion was always to his mother.
In his later years, Rob worked in car dealership service departments in Tulsa and Ponca City. An avid outdoorsman, he competed in numerous fishing tournaments and brought home victories with the same determination he once showed on the baseball field. Those closest to him remember the special gift he shared with his mother—the ability to make others feel truly seen and appreciated simply by being in their presence.
Rob is survived by his aunts and uncles, Sherrill Meyer of Perkins, Oklahoma, Michael Ellis of Claremore, Oklahoma, Robert Ellis Jr. of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Kim Johnson of Derby, Kansas, along with numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
