Preserve forever →Robert Clare Kreidler
August 24, 1955— March 15, 2026
Indianola, IA
Robert Clare Kreidler, age 70, of Indianola, Iowa, passed away peacefully with family by his side on March 15, 2026. Born August 24, 1955 in Des Moines, he was the son of Robert Lee Kreidler and Joan (Halfhill) Kreidler of Hartford, Iowa. Robert joined his sisters, Michele and Angela, keeping his folks on their toes as the busy band of three grew up on the small family farm near Palmyra, Iowa.
Robert always enjoyed the outdoors. He learned to hunt and fish with his dad and preferred to be outside whenever he could. He graduated from Carlisle High School in 1973. Except for a short time in Texas, he was a lifelong Warren County resident.
Robert spent most of his working years as a cook at Crouse Cafe in Indianola. He enjoyed watching the Crouse kids grow up and considered the family his good friends.
In retirement he visited daily county and state parks and nature trails to walk or ride his bike. He especially liked to observe the geese and other wildlife raise their young.
Robert's proudest accomplishment was his family. His son, Dustin, and wife, Erin, have two children, Tyler and Madyson. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Angela Matthews. He is survived by his son, Dustin and family; his sister, Michele Kreidler; and nieces Carrie Stewart, Jackie McGinnis, and Linnea Anderson.
A Celebration of Life for Robert will be held this summer. Memorials may be given to the Warren County Conservation Board or Kiya Koda Humane Society.
