Hoff RD, Elwood, IL. Waiting on Veterans Administration Office for date for Military Service.Bob, was a Loving husband of Brandy Richter. Loving & proud father of son Steven (Lauren) Richter,daughter Christine (Rita) Castans. Step son Nicky (Sherry) Pratt & Jeff Pratt. Loving grandfather to Brittany, Gracie, Brett & Justin. Loving Great grandfather to Peter.Cherished & loved sister Patti (Jim) Aliotta. Loving fond uncle to Jeannine (Jon) Joey & great uncle to Jack, Ashton & Brennon.Above all, Bob was a deeply loving father & grandfather. Who found his greatest happiness in time spent with his family. Sharing with the family his funny sense of humor & making everyone laugh. Sharing a special bond with each one.For Bob, the simple things in life was what was worth living. He loved picking strawberries durning the season & eating them. He would always have red knees for a while, from being on his knees as he picked them. He didn't mind. He was just happy to have his strawberries. They were always so sweet & made the best strawberry shortcake, We had many a meals with just that & did he love them. Oh yes! I still have some in the freezer from his last picking. I know I will think of him each time I have some. Maybe share with the family to have some sweet memories.Bob, worked with ITW Trans-Tech for over 30 years. A man with many hat's. Bob's life was defined by service, leadership, & an extraordinary work ethic. He loved to travel with his job & embraced life with curiosity & enthusiasm. He was warm, compassionate & genuinely interested in how people lived.He loved all his co-workers & sharing much time with them. He always loved the parties & gatherings. He said, they where the best.Bob, proudly serve in the United States Navy! His position was on the carrier as a: Aircraft Rescue & Firefighting (ARFF).He was a type of firefighter that involves the emergency response, mitigation, evaluation & rescue of involved in aviation accidents & incidents. Bob, was proud to be American & served his country.Bob's world was of fishing in early year's of life. It was one thing that he loved. As he got older his heart went into racing. Bob & I. …plus some of the family went to different events at Road America in ElKart Lake, Wisconsin. It was his dream to race there one day. Bob's dream finally came true. It was a special time for him in his life. Bob, had raced at other places, but this was the big Kahuna. The grand of them all. He loved every minute of it & was so proud.Oh yes, we can not forget Bob's favorite football team. The famous & Only,,, Green Bay Packers. He lived the green & gold. That's what he always said. I think Bob had every sweatshirt, t-shirt, jacket & coat, that the Packers put out new every year. At lease one. We went to serval games & with some family sharing those memories with us. Had many Packer parties at the house with family & friends. Bob, would say what a good life & it couldn't get any better than watching the Packers.Bob, was deeply, quietly caring. especially when it came to his family. He embraced every challenge with grace & faced adversity with wavering strength. His warm presence & unconditional love forever will be missed. We the family are infinitely blessed to have shared in the gift of his life. Though our hearts are heavy, he will be dearly missed. we will find comfort knowing his love lives on in the family & the legacy he built for all of us.Go Pack Go!!!!To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
